That’s right, it’s a late summer tree ID hike, with a focus on demystifying the mighty oaks! Participants will be taking a look at the trees of JMF and learning the tools to differentiate the more than 15(!) different species of oak present in our forest. All levels of arboreal and botanical wisdom are welcome (though the target will be those who have less experience)! This is a guided hike. Program will meet in the main parking lot of the Horine Reservation. This free event is designed for individuals and families who are new to canoeing to experience the water in safe and stable large canoes which hold 6-8 people. All safety equipment and trained staff are provided. Wear comfortable outdoor clothing that can get wet; no flip flops please. FREE and open to public. Ages 3 and older. Participants under the age of 18 MUST have a waiver signed by a parent/ legal guardian. No advanced sign-ups required.
