Time to get off the couch and get your body moving! Winter hiking means no bugs, no humidity, and better views! Hiking in cooler temperatures even burns more calories! What’s not to love?! The Scott’s Gap full loop is a moderate to strenuous 3.3 mile trail that traverses the hills and valleys of the westernmost portion of Jefferson Memorial Forest. Join Forest staff for a fun morning of exercise and a bit of learning about the winter woods. There is an elevation gain of 640 ft. on this hike. Dress in layers and bring a water bottle and snacks. Hiking poles are recommended if you have them. Please note that there are no restroom facilities at this location. If you are coming as a group we suggest carpooling as the parking lot fills quickly on the weekend.
